Peptide calculator
Australia.

Calculate research-solution concentration and sample volume using milligrams, micrograms, millilitres and microlitres. A straightforward peptide calculator for Australian laboratory and analytical work.

Research calculations only

Calculate your sample volume

Enter the total peptide amount, final solution volume and target amount for one research sample.

Use the peptide amount stated for the sample or vial, not the total powder weight.

mL

Enter the final total liquid volume after dissolution. This may differ from the volume of solvent added.

Use the amount specified by your laboratory protocol. This tool does not recommend a target amount.

Assumes complete dissolution and a homogeneous solution. Does not adjust for purity, losses, degradation or measurement uncertainty.

Your calculation
Start with your sample details.Enter all three values and select Calculate volume. Your solution concentration and required sample volume will appear here.

Laboratory calculations only. Results are not instructions for injection, administration or personal dosing. No syringe-unit conversion is provided.

The method

How to use the peptide calculator

  1. Confirm the peptide amount. Enter the total amount in mg or µg. One milligram equals 1,000 micrograms.
  2. Enter the final solution volume. Use mL and include the total volume of the homogeneous solution.
  3. Choose a research sample amount. Enter the amount required by your laboratory protocol, selecting the correct unit.
  4. Review the results. The calculator reports concentration in mg/mL and µg/mL, plus sample volume in mL and µL.

This peptide concentration calculator uses mass divided by volume. It does not determine solubility, choose a solvent or establish a research protocol.

Peptide unit conversions

Mass and volume are different measurements. Milligrams and micrograms describe an amount of peptide; millilitres and microlitres describe liquid volume.

To convert a peptide amount into a liquid volume, you need the solution’s concentration. A mg value alone cannot tell you a mL value.

Common laboratory conversions
MeasurementEquivalent
1 milligram (mg)1,000 micrograms (µg)
1 microgram (µg)0.001 milligrams (mg)
1 millilitre (mL)1,000 microlitres (µL)
1 microlitre (µL)0.001 millilitres (mL)
Research calculator FAQs

Peptide calculator Australia: common questions

Understand what the numbers mean before using a result in your research workflow.

What does this peptide calculator calculate?

It calculates a solution’s concentration from peptide mass and final liquid volume. It then calculates the volume containing a target peptide amount. Outputs use metric laboratory units: mg/mL, µg/mL, mL and µL.

Is this a peptide reconstitution calculator?

It can help with the concentration arithmetic associated with a reconstituted research solution. It does not determine how a particular compound should be reconstituted, which solvent is suitable, or its stability and storage conditions. Use a validated laboratory protocol and enter the actual final volume.

Should I enter solvent added or final solution volume?

Enter the final total volume of the solution. Concentration is defined using final solution volume, which is not necessarily identical to the volume of solvent added.

Can I convert mg directly into mL?

No. Mass cannot be converted to liquid volume without a concentration. First divide the total peptide mass by the final solution volume. Divide your target mass by that concentration to calculate the required sample volume.

Does the calculator correct for purity?

No. It treats your entered peptide amount as the mass available in solution. Purity, peptide content, water, counterions and preparation losses may affect a laboratory calculation. Review the relevant analytical documents and use your laboratory’s method for any required correction.

Why is my target amount rejected?

The target amount cannot exceed the total peptide amount in the entered solution. Check whether each value is in mg or µg. All three values must be positive and finite.

Does it recommend a peptide dose or syringe setting?

No. This is a research concentration and sample-volume tool. It does not recommend human or veterinary doses, administration methods or syringe settings.

Where can I find product information?

Browse our peptide vial catalogue, spray listings or capsule listings. Calculations on this page apply to homogeneous solutions, not solid capsule content or unverified spray delivery. Ask our team about available product documentation.
